What becomes possible when data is used effectively

At our stakeholder event on May 22, 2025, everything at the office revolved around two projects that demonstrate how smart technologies can advance sustainable mobility: AI-CENTIVE and KI.M.

Guests from public administration, business, and research joined us on-site to discover new approaches and engage in discussion.

After a relaxed breakfast, Arno Scharl (webLyzard) and Lyndon Nixon (MODUL Technology) provided fascinating insights into their projects:

  • KI.M analyzes how weather, media, and public sentiment influence our mobility behavior – and delivers new insights daily via its live dashboard.
  • AI-CENTIVE uses the Ummadum app and gamification elements to make sustainable transport modes more attractive – through real-time recommendations tailored to each user’s mobility context.

In the following panel discussion with Arno Scharl (webLyzard), Stefan Schwillinsky (AustriaTech), Peter Hollos (Wiener Lokalbahnen), Bernhard Ortner (Wiener Linien), Daniel Elias (Mo.Point), and Egon Prünster (ummadum), it quickly became clear: it’s not just about technology – it’s about trustclear communication, and the willingness to embrace change – internally and culturally.

Whether it’s real-time cycling forecasts, AI-powered route planning, or predictive maintenance – the ideas and applications are already here. Now it’s about creating the right framework conditions.

Conclusion and Outlook

The event clearly demonstrated: AI is revolutionizing mobility – efficiently, sustainably, and data-driven. The presentations of AI-CENTIVE and KI.M showcased concrete applications, while the panel discussion highlighted key strategic considerations.

The decisive factor remains: using technology intelligently and with a human-centered approach. AI will become more complex to develop, but easier to use. The focus is on building sustainable data ecosystems and developing workflows that help Austrian companies succeed in the AI-driven mobility transition.
